Create a bot to get team alerts and schedule posts in channels.

With a Telegram bot, your team gets important alerts in its group. The same bot publishes scheduled posts in your models' channels.

Before you start

  • Telegram on your phone or computer.
  • A Telegram group for your team.
  • The Owner or Admin role in Velora.

Steps

  1. Open BotFather. Search for @BotFather in Telegram. It's the official account with the blue check.
  2. Create the bot. Send /newbot. Pick a name, then a username ending in bot, for example myagency_alerts_bot.
  3. Copy the token. BotFather replies with a token that looks like 123456789:AAH.... Copy all of it.
  4. Paste the token into Velora. Fill in “Bot token”.
  5. Add the bot to the team group. In Telegram, add the bot as a member of the group. Velora detects it and fills in “Team chat”. You can also paste the group ID by hand, it often starts with -100. Then click Test. The token is encrypted and won't be shown in full again.
  6. Link your models' channels. Add the bot as an admin of a channel, with the right to post. The channel shows up in the console: link it to the right model to schedule her posts.

If it doesn't work

  • “Team chat” stays empty → remove the bot from the group, add it again, then send a message in the group.
  • The channel doesn't show up → check the bot is an admin of the channel with the right to post.
  • Test fails → the token was copied wrong, copy it again from BotFather.
