DocuSeal (contracts)

Send contracts for signature and file the signed PDF in the model's folder.

8 min

DocuSeal sends your contracts for online signature. Once signed, Velora files the PDF in the model's folder, with nothing to download by hand.

Before you start

  • A DocuSeal account, on docuseal.com, docuseal.eu or your own server.
  • Your contract already set up as a template in DocuSeal.
  • The Owner or Admin role in Velora.

Steps

  1. Copy your API key. In DocuSeal, open the settings then API, and copy the key. Velora sends it in the X-Auth-Token header, you have nothing to set.
  2. Note your server. It's docuseal.com, docuseal.eu or the address of your self-hosted DocuSeal.
  3. Find the contract template ID. Open your template in DocuSeal: the ID is the number in the page address, after /templates/.
  4. Paste everything into Velora. Fill in “API key”, “Server” and “Contract template”, then click Test. The key is encrypted and won't be shown in full again.
  5. Copy the webhook URL and secret. The console shows them under the fields.
  6. Add the webhook in DocuSeal. Paste the URL, then add the X-Webhook-Secret header with the secret as its value.
  7. Pick the events. Keep form.completed, form.declined and form.viewed.
  8. Send a test contract. Send it to your own address and sign it. The signed PDF should show up in the model's folder.

If it doesn't work

  • Test fails → check the server: a docuseal.eu key doesn't work on docuseal.com.
  • Contract signed but no PDF → check the webhook URL and the X-Webhook-Secret header.
  • Wrong contract sent → fix the ID in “Contract template”.
